1DAYMVP · WEB DEVELOPMENT

Web development. Built around your business.

A useful website explains your offer, earns trust and makes the next step clear. I build custom websites and more complex web applications, planning the interface and the system behind it together.

01 / Web development

Which kind of website do you need?

Start with the job the website must do. A campaign may need one focused landing page. A business with several services benefits from a clear, browsable website. When visitors sign in, book, search or manage data, a web application may be the better fit. We define the first release around those tasks rather than adding features without a purpose.

  • Landing page: one offer and a clear route to enquiry.
  • Business website: services, references and useful individual pages.
  • Web application: accounts, permissions, business rules and integrations.

What can the development scope include?

We clarify the content structure and main user journey before detailed visual design. The interface is then built for mobile and desktop. Forms, an admin interface, payments or connections to external services can be included in the agreed scope. Before launch, we check the important journeys, including empty states and errors.

  • Page structure, headings and understandable navigation.
  • Custom frontend, with backend and database where needed.
  • Domain, HTTPS and production configuration.
  • Agreed handover and operational responsibilities.

SEO, performance and mobile usability

Important content and links must be accessible in the HTML that search engines receive. Individual pages get their own title, description and canonical URL; language versions are connected with appropriate annotations. Image dimensions, fonts and unnecessary scripts also affect the loading experience. Technical checks are a starting point. Search Console data after launch helps reveal which queries actually bring visitors. A particular Google ranking cannot be promised.

What affects website cost and timing?

The number of pages and languages matters, but so do business rules, integrations and the readiness of your content. A simple company website and a booking platform need different planning and testing. A useful proposal separates design, development, content entry, launch and ongoing work. We also clarify recurring domain, hosting and external service costs before work begins, with a project estimate tied to the agreed scope.

A CHECKABLE OUTCOME

What makes a website ready for handover?

Web development delivers a useful result when the visitor’s task also completes behind the interface. Agree on testable acceptance criteria that fit the actual scope.

Contact journey
Use a test submission to check storage, notification and visitor feedback. Invalid input and a notification failure are separate cases.
Content and discoverability
Important URLs, titles, language versions and internal links should match the agreed content plan. Replacing an existing site also requires a redirect plan.
Mobile and keyboard
The menu, form and main action should be usable on a narrow screen and with a keyboard. Record which views were checked.
Ongoing ownership
Clarify responsibility for the domain, hosting, content changes, backups and access, together with recurring service costs.

Our own site provides a concrete example of connecting a service website, discoverable content and enquiry handling.

START WITH WHAT MATTERS

What to include in your brief

You do not need a finished specification. These answers help define a useful first step.

  1. What should visitors do: enquire, book, buy or manage something online?
  2. Who is the audience, which languages are needed, and is content or branding ready?
  3. Which external services must the site connect to?
  4. What is the intended launch date and available budget?

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Should I use a custom website or an existing platform?

An existing platform is worth considering when it solves the job well. Custom development makes sense when your workflow, interface or integrations go beyond its practical limits. We consider the initial build, ongoing maintenance and future changes together.

Can you improve an existing website?

Yes, following a technical review. We first need to understand the code, hosting, integrations and URLs that should be retained. That helps decide what can be improved in place and when a new foundation makes more sense.

What happens to existing search results during a rebuild?

Existing URLs and important content should be inventoried. Changed addresses need permanent redirects to the appropriate new pages. The sitemap and Search Console checks should be part of the launch process.

Will I be able to edit the website?

If regular content changes are needed, we can plan an editing interface or CMS integration. We agree which pages, text and images should be editable and who handles technical maintenance.
